Environmental Policy & Corporate Social Responsibility
Ardill Payne & Partners’ Environmental Policy
Ardill Payne & Partners’ environmental management system applies to all operations and services of the firm. All staff are expected to comply with the spirit of this policy in the context of the role in which they work.
We aim to achieve continual environmental improvement through implementing a management system with objectives and targets to minimise our environmental footprint by working with staff and other stakeholders through pollution prevention practices in compliance with legal and other requirements and be a role model for others to follow.
Educating our staff in environmental-related degrees is another demonstration of our commitment to greening not just our business, but the industry as a whole. Further, to show how we put our policy into practice, here are some examples:
- We have installed solar panels with two 14kW systems reducing our reliance and usage on the grid, as well as annual costs
- We have replaced the old style Fluro light panels throughout our office, with the new energy efficient LED light panels - generating a huge reduction in energy consumption, lowering environmental impact and reducing maintenance, since LED lights have a 5 year life expectancy.
- Our role as engineers, planners and project managers is to assist our clients in meeting their environmental obligations with regards to storm water, wastewater and other environmental concerns. We work closely with our clients to advise on innovative solutions to meet their obligations, providing options and contacts to help them do so
- Our Project Management team monitor all construction sites to make sure pollution events do not occur
- Our Environmental Engineers provide ongoing water quality monitoring and testing to ensure our developments are meeting their consent conditions and environmental targets
- Our Environmental Engineers are involved in conducting inspections and reviews of sites to determine any risks of contaminants, including HAZMAT issues, lead paint & asbestos. They determine the best ways for clients to manage any risks and how best to dispose contaminants in an environmentally responsible manner
We also undertake these environmental contributions:
- Recycling papers and plastics
- Recycling coffee capsules
- Recycling Printer cartridges
- LED/Fluro lighting to reduce electricity usage
- Work stations are turned off at night to reduce electricity usage
- Green waste is collected and appropriately disposed of
