Structural Engineer

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer with five years' design experience in an Australian Consulting Engineer's office. The ideal candidate will have proven experience and skills in the design and analysis of reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures. Experience in the following areas is preferred:
• Tilt panel building design
• Residential construction design
• Low-rise residential/commercial design
• Earth retaining structures
• Industrial structural steelwork

Town Planner
About the business and the role
Ardill Payne & Partners is a progressive and dynamic consultancy comprising Civil & Structural Engineers, Surveyors, Town Planners & Project Managers. The firm has been practising for 40+ years on the Far North Coast of NSW. Clients include local and state Government and property developers.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Full time position as part of a Town Planning team with the opportunity to negotiate a 4-day working week. Successful candidate will be afforded the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from rezoning applications to large scale subdivision and everything in between. Day to day work will involve the preparation of SEE's, liaising with clients and Council.
Essential skills and experience
- Degree qualified
- NSW drivers’ licence
- Experience in the preparation and/or assessment of development applications
- Have permanent Australian residency
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Local Government experience (particularly within the NSW Northern Rivers region)

Senior Civil Engineer
Job tasks and responsibilities
The successful candidate’s role will have a strong emphasis on design, and the management of projects and design teams. The candidate will be required to:
- undertake civil engineering design, review, and project management for a wide range of projects including land development and other civil infrastructure
- manage client relationships on allocated projects
- conduct site inspections
- manage design projects from inception through to completion within agreed timeframes and budgets
- work effectively and harmoniously with all levels of staff and management
- prepare high quality proposals, reports, documents, and other deliverables.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 7 years’ practical design experience in an Australian consulting environment
- Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements
- Ability to network, maintain, and build professional relationships
- Ability to lead and manage staff and collaborate with other disciplines across the organisation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Professional registration (CPEng)
- Extensive experience in surface water modelling and management, and the design of stormwater, sewer, and water reticulation in urban developments
- Experience in DRAINS, MUSIC, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS
- Design/draft skills using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Senior Civil Designer
Job tasks and responsibilities
We are offering a full-time position for a highly motivated individual to join our Civil Engineering team. The successful candidate will be afforded the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial developments, and rural and urban road upgrades. Candidates must have at least 10 years' experience in civil design and drafting of roads, stormwater drainage, sewer reticulation, and water supply. Further opportunities exist to expand into project management.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Relevant formal qualifications in Civil Engineering
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D (12D candidates will be considered for retraining)
